About Greece
Greece is a sailing paradise — and one so vast and varied that no single voyage can contain it. The Ionian Sea in the west offers lush green islands, gentle summer winds, and a culture shaped by Venetian rule: Corfu, Lefkada, Ithaca, and Kefalonia are softer, more verdant versions of Greece, ideal for relaxed cruising. Cross the Peloponnese and the Aegean reveals itself entirely differently — sharper, drier, more ancient. The Cyclades bring whitewashed villages perched on clifftops, the famous meltemi wind, and a sailing scene that is social and exhilarating in equal measure. Santorini seen from the sea — a caldera ring of black cliffs with a submerged volcano at its centre — is one of the great spectacles of the Mediterranean. The Dodecanese, hugging the Turkish coast, add layers of Ottoman and Byzantine history to every anchorage: Rhodes, Symi, and Patmos are among the most beautiful islands in Europe. Ancient ruins, crystalline water, and the warmest hospitality in the Mediterranean make Greece the destination that sailors return to again and again.
